August 2007 Theracos initiates Phase II clinical trial to evaluate the safety and effect of THR-4109 on weight loss in obese subjects over a 24-week treatment period
September 2006 Theracos awarded NIH Small Business Innovation Research grant to study the ability of THR-0921 to reduce cardiovascular complications in diabetes
May 2006 Theracos acquires proprietary therapeutic platform in the area of obesity and metabolic disease based on clinical observations in a small physician-sponsored trial
February 2006 Theracos enters into agreement with Osaka University to study anti-inflammatory activity of THR-0921
December 2005 Theracos partner Egret Pharma Shanghai receives clinical trial permit from SFDA in China
November 2005 Theracos-funded investigator Philip Tsao of Stanford University and collaborators report their characterization of the anti-inflammatory activity of the 921 class (Tetsuya Tomita, Yoshimi Kakiuchi and Philip S. Tsao. Arthritis Research & Therapy, 8:R7 2005)
October 2005 Theracos enters into research collaboration agreement with Egret Pharma Shanghai to extend the scope of research in China
August 2005 Theracos awarded NIH Small Business Innovation Research grant to develop additional information on compounds to be used for the treatment of diabetes
March 2005 Theracos completes Phase I pharmacokinetic crossover study on improved formulation of anti-diabetic compound THR-0921
March 2004 Theracos enters into an agreement with Transpect, Ltd for licensing of compounds developed in Japan
January 2004 Theracos enters into a discovery and development agreement with Egret Pharma Shanghai Ltd. to develop compounds and conduct clinical trials in the areas of diabetes and metabolic disease
June 2003 Theracos enters into an agreement with the Research Institute of Palo Alto Medical Foundation to support work in the area of obesity and metabolic disease
May 2003 Theracos completes the acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Calyx Therapeutics, Inc. “Calyx has done a wonderful job of developing a platform for compound discovery and development in the areas of metabolic disease and inflammation, two areas of high interest to Theracos,” said Edward P. Amento, M.D., CEO of Theracos. “We are committed to continuing to develop and expand their portfolio through clinical development and additional discovery to further add value to these interesting assets.”
January 2003 Theracos enters into Sponsored Research Agreement with Molecular Medicine Research Institute to carry out animal studies in preclinical programs.
October 2002 Theracos and Discovery Partners International announce extension and expansion of their drug discovery program. "We are delighted to be consolidating our relationship with Theracos," stated Taylor Crouch, President and COO of Discovery Partners International. "Our integrated drug discovery capabilities and platforms are an excellent fit with Theracos's target expertise and we look forward to achieving important drug development milestones as we move forward in this exciting collaboration."
